We sing many more songs,  besides what is featured
on the CD, in sessions too, as age appropriateness is always a consideration.

  • Music Talk was featured in Sacramento Parent magazine.
With the collaboration of Jean Piette, a retired Special Education Coordinator
(P.C.O.E.), and Bobbie, a music program was developed to engage children with
social and/or language disabilities.  The idea was, and is, to improve and provide an
alternative and additional means of communication to children,
educators, and parents through the use of music.
This is a well-received program!
Teachers, parents, caregivers, and children look forward to every session!
Here's what some have said:
Cindy Tekus, M.A., SLF-CA Licensed Speech Pathologist says,
"MusicTalk has provided a format for children to use language in a non-demanding,
non-invasive venue.  The children who benefit most from this program are those who tend to
be limited to hesitate to use language in other settings... Many children's language skills have
been positively affected by this program."
Mary Flannigan, Teacher, Rock Creek School:
"I have a student who is mostly non-verbal and has behavioral issues with compliance.
However... the child who says no to everything, is vocalizing excitedly, using sign language to
express his knowledge of colors, animals and counting.  (The) program allows us to practice
speech and learn pre-academic skills in a fun format"
Becky & Dustin Young, Parents:
"Whenever I come to observe MusicTalk, I am amazed and encouraged to see how music
greatly improves my son's ability to verbalize and articulate words.  The music activities you
bring to the classroom have opened up a whole new avenue of communication for our son
and the social connections he is making through music is a precious gift for our family to share
together.  A year ago, our son was almost completely non-verbal and he is now attempting to
sing words in the songs you have been teaching him."
